What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is the state, and hypnotherapy is what you do when you are there. You have probably already experienced hypnosis many times. It is a natural state in which we are usually relaxed and very focused or absorbed – watching a good film, dancing, daydreaming in a queue. Our attention shifts from the chatter of our minds into a quieter inward journey.

If we have old patterns of thinking, behaviours and beliefs that do not serve us well, they may well have their roots deep in our unconscious. Often we will have been trying to tell ourselves to change using our conscious minds, but we can hit a wall and find we fall back into old patterns.

Using self-hypnosis or hypnotherapy can help us to reach a more relaxed state – a holiday from the stresses of the modern world and a chance to help our bodies and minds unwind and rebalance. What you can expect from Hypnotherapy
Most people find that they are still aware of what is going on around them and what is being said at the time, and that they also feel very relaxed. Some may remember all or most of the content, whilst others might find that is not the case. Either way, it is the unconscious mind that is listening and remembering everything it needs to.
Being in Control
People often find it to be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. And, just in the same way that when you are absorbed in a film or book, you will still hear the phone, or if the doorbell rings you can choose to get up and answer it – you can decide, you are in control.

Hypnotherapy Appointments
Initial hypnotherapy appointments are an hour and a half (£110) and follow up appointments are usually an hour (£64). Where helpful a recording can be made of the hypnotherapy session for you to use in between sessions or as needed in the future. This is included within the consultation fee.
A limited number of concessionary rate places and flexible fee packages are available within my practice – details available upon request.
Online Hypnotherapy Sessions
Yes, hypnotherapy is possible with online sessions. It works well as you can be relaxed and comfortable at home, which a lot of people like. See the Online Consultations page to find out more details.
